Rebuilding of docks and bridges
Posted on Oct 21st, 2023
Beginning on October 4-5, weather-dependent, the docks and bridges in Capron Ridge will be rebuilt due to their age and poor safety conditions. We have contracted with a dock vendor after reviewing 4 quotes that will provide us with excellent value and ensure these structures are available to us long into the future.
We will replace only the posts that are damaged (per vendor recommendations), and all substructures and surfaces will be replaced with marine-grade lumber and stainless-steel fittings. The upper surfaces will be maintenance-free surfaces called WearDeck, which have excellent strength and wear properties. It is also the coolest of these types of surfaces, and we have selected Barefoot Beige as the decking and railing components. The vendor anticipates that it will take approximately two weeks per dock, and 3 to 4 weeks for the bridge in the sequence shown below.
During the time of rebuilding, each structure will be unavailable due to safety reasons. This will be a significant upgrade to our valuable assets in the quality of the neighborhood, recreational value, and safety.
